Vickie has been supporting births in Canberra since 2001 and has recently decided to take semi-retirement and cut back on birth attendance. It was not an easy decision to make . To reduce the number of births, Vickie will now only take on return clients,  homebirth clients, women referred by friends who are past clients,  midwives and obstetricians, or women who need particularly specialised help. Do you fall into any of these categories? If so, Vickie would be happy to meet you and your partner for an obligation free talk about your needs. If not, Vickie can give you the names of other great doulas in Canberra

Because research based evidence has shown that the presence of a trained Doula can significantly enhance the birth experience for a mother, her partner and her baby as well as increasing the safety of birth.

In addition to educating and supporting parents-to-be, Vickie Hingston-Jones, an experienced doula, childbirth educator and natural therapist, provides calm, constant care to the whole family, actively bringing body, mind & spirit into balance & harmony.

The Confident Birth & WellBeing clinic is a place of peace and tranquility overlooking the Lanyon Valley.  In the clinic Vickie uses only the best natural therapies to balance energy, improve health, boost immune systems and relieve stress.

Vickie now to make an appointment for  complementary therapies or an obligation free meeting to chat about how doulas really do make a difference.

doula: dou-la doo-la ...a woman experienced in childbirth who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after childbirth.

As part of the celebrations for the centenary of Canberra, UN Women honoured 100 women who have made a difference to Canberra at the 2013 International Women's Day lunch. To be nominated, women must have made a significant contribution to Canberra. The women who were nominated were not all high profile. Most were quiet achievers and influencers who helped shape Canberra.

I was proud, humbled and honoured to be selected as one of the 100 Great Women and extend my sincerest congratulations to the other 99.
